Our Story

Before Stork & Stitch became a business, it began with two sisters-in-law, two little girls, and a somewhat crazy idea Sami and Nicole, dreamed up Stork & Stitch together by combining Sami’s creative vision and professional background with Nicole’s years of experience owning and operating small businesses. At the heart of what they were creating, were their daughters Stella and Willow the two little girls who would eventually lend their names to

Stork & Stitch by Willow & Stella.

Willow & Stella became their tiniest sources of inspiration (and, unofficially, their most brutally honest focus group). Together, Sami and Nicole realized that the kind of magic they wanted to create for their own little girls could become something other children could experience and hopefully store away in their

core-memory banks forever, too.

And so…from there, Stork & Stitch by Willow & Stella began coming to life.

Meet Nicole

Nicole is one of the co-founders of Stork & Stitch, a mom, entrepreneur, and lifelong creative with a love for making ordinary moments feel a little more magical.

As a business owner and hairstylist, Nicole has spent years creating experiences that make people feel special. When Stork & Stitch began, she wanted to bring that same attention to detail, creativity, and heart into a completely new kind of experience for children and families.

As a mom herself, Nicole understands that childhood is made up of the little moment's kids remember forever. Her vision for Stork & Stitch is to create a place where imagination comes to life where children can choose their forever friend, experience the excitement of an adoption day, and leave with a memory that feels truly their own.

From dreaming up the nursery and hand-selecting the tiniest accessories to planning parties, pop-ups, and special deliveries, Nicole loves being involved in every detail, no matter how big or small.

For her, Stork & Stitch is more than a business. It’s about creating joy, encouraging imagination, and giving families an experience they’ll talk about long after their adoption day is over.

Meet Sami

Sami is one of the co-founders and creative minds behind Stork & Stitch a place where imagination, a little bit of magic, and a whole lot of love come together to create an experience kids will remember long after they bring their new little one home.

For Sami, the inspiration was especially personal. Watching Stella’s love for baby dolls, nurturing play, and the kind of wonderfully big imagination that only a child can have made her want to create something that felt real through a child’s eyes not simply choosing a doll from a shelf, but meeting their baby, caring for them, completing the paperwork, and becoming part of an entire little fantasy world.

With a professional background as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer specializing in OB/GYN, Sami is no stranger to being part of some of life’s most exciting “first introductions.” Her background also includes event planning and catering, along with experience in preschool, nursery, and elementary education -  an oddly perfect combination of worlds that, looking back now, seem to have been preparing her for Stork & Stitch all along.

These days, she’s taken that experience in a slightly more playful direction helping Stork & Stitch families meet their newest (and slightly less demanding) additions.
Stork & Stitch brings together so many pieces of Sami’s world her medical background, creativity, love of design, slightly over-the-top attention to detail, and, most importantly, her love of creating experiences children can completely lose themselves in. Because there’s a very particular kind of joy that comes with looking at your baby and thinking, "
How am I this lucky? I get to take this perfect little bundle home, love them, care for them, and call them mine forever."
Of course, nothing could ever truly recreate that feeling but Sami couldn’t think of a sweeter way to let a child experience their own little version of it through the magic of imagination.

Built by Family…Quite Literally.
Turning an idea into the
Stork & Stitch you see today took blood, sweat, tears, power tools, sawdust, two families willing to pitch in—and one exceptionally talented retired carpenter.
Both Sami’s and Nicole’s families have had a hand in helping bring their vision to life, including Nicole’s dad, who pitched in a bunch along the way with his extensive knowledge and experience owning and maintaining RV's throughout his life. And for Sami, working alongside her own dad to physically transform the
Stork & Stitch mobile nursery has become an especially meaningful part of the story.
A retired carpenter and true master of his craft, Sami’s dad possesses the somewhat dangerous ability to hear one of her “Okay, hear me out…” ideas and actually figure out how to build it. His decades of craftsmanship, precision, patience, and seemingly endless problem solving have turned sketches and ideas into the beautiful, cozy little nursery world families can now officially step inside.

And here’s the part they couldn’t have planned if they tried…
His carpentry career began building and remodeling custom RV's.
Decades later, after nearly a lifetime spent mastering his craft, he found himself back inside an RV - this time helping his daughter build a dream inspired by her daughter’s dreams.
Talk about full circle.

There are pieces of three generations woven into Stork & Stitch: two little girls whose imaginations helped inspire it, two moms who dreamed it into existence, and two families who rolled up their sleeves to help them build it. Add Nicole’s entrepreneurial know-how and small-business expertise, Sami’s never-ending stream of “what if we…” ideas, their countless sketches, measurements, re-measurements, renovations, late nights, and more than a few “just one more thing…” moments, and you have Stork & Stitch.

For Nicole & Sami, that’s part of what makes this place so special.
Stork & Stitch was never meant to simply be somewhere you buy a doll and pull it off a shelf in a box.
The doll is only the beginning.
It’s watching a child carefully choose “the one.” Hearing the hilarious answers during their adoption application interview. Seeing how seriously they take that first newborn check-up. Watching them thoughtfully choose the perfect name, carefully complete their paperwork, and proudly walk away with something that already feels so very real to them.
Because in a child’s world…imagination is real.
And somehow, an idea shared between two very like-minded moms born from wanting to create a little magic for their daughters became a dream their families built together and now, a place where countless other little dreams get to come true, too!
